Mission Photo Album -  A photo essay of the journey to a world record. On July 11, 2003, at 6:35 am, the A37, a A37 rocket just
after parachute
deployment
carbon fiber reinforced high pressure water rocket, was launched at 1,150 psi and flew to a world record altitude of 1,242 ft.  At apogee, the sun glinted off the rocket as the new chemical deployment system worked perfectly, beginning the A37's gentle descent beneath a center draft parachute.  See all the details in this full length slide show documentary.

High Pressure Release Mechanism - Don't try this at home!  Here's how we connected up to 1300 psi pressure to our world record A37 rocket and launched from a safe distance away.

Aerial Photography System -  These photographs were taken using our Aerial Photography Kit.  The camera was launched into the air with one of our Unbelievable Water Rockets and took 40 pictures from beneath a 17sqft parachute.  The first 12 photos are taken while the camera is still settling into a stable descent, and so are not very useful.  Photos 13 to 40 are much clearer, and you can take a closer look at them by clicking on the photo.

Touch-Down in the snow after a stellar flight into the dark, cold night.
A warm glow-stick atop an early Skylab rocket.  The warmer the glow-stick, the brighter it gets.  We also tried the glow-stick fluid as rocket fuel (don't try this yourself) but the fluid cooled off too quickly to glow.
